PICTURES FROM CALLS

2003

This page features photos taken on calls with MCR in 2003.  We rarely have personnel available to take pictures on calls, which is why there is such a small collection here.  Pictures are provided for educational purposes only.  Although there were injuries and deaths associated with some of the incidents depicted here, extreme discretion is used in deciding which photos to place on this site.  These pictures are only a small example of the severity and number of calls that MCR responds to on a daily basis.

FEBRUARY 2003.  Medic 1, Medic 2, and Medic 3 responded to an accident on 15-401 west of Bennettsville involving 4 cars and an 18-wheeler.  The driver of the red Nissan apparently lost control of her car while crossing the ice-covered bridge, and struck the tractor-trailer head-on.  The red Nissan was then struck broad-side by the beige Maxima, while the tractor-trailer continued on and over the embankment.  The driver of the red Nissan was killed instantly, while all other drivers escaped serious injury.  In the first picture, you can see the top of the tractor-trailer through the woods just to the left of the yellow bridge sign.
