2005
This page
features photos taken on
calls with MCR this year. We rarely have personnel available to take pictures on
calls, which is why there is such a small collection here. Pictures are
provided for educational purposes only. Although there were injuries and
deaths associated with some of the incidents depicted here, extreme discretion
is used in deciding which photos to place on
this site. These pictures are only a small example of the severity and
number of calls that MCR responds to on a daily basis.

December 2005. A two
vehicle MVA on Hwy 177 in Wallace. On the scene were Medic 3, Medic
1, MCR Equipment Truck 115, Wallace Rescue and Wallace Fire. One
patient was transported by Medic 3 to Marlboro park ER, while Medic 1
transported the other patient to Chesterfield General ER in Cheraw.
Thankfully neither patient was seriously injured. |

December 2005. An MVA on
Coxe Road West between Bennettsville and Blenheim. Medic 1, Medic 2,
Medic 4 and our Crash Truck responded. Units arrived on scene to
find two patients with serious injuries, one of which required some minor
extrication work. One patient was transported by Medic 2 to Scotland
ER in Laurinburg while the other patient was transported by Medic 1 to
Marlboro Park ER. Blenheim Fire Department was on hand also. |

November 2005. Medic 1, Medic 3,
and MCR's Rescue Truck respond to Highway 9 west in Wallace for an MVA involving a
pick-up truck that struck a bridge. The driver was killed in the
accident. |

October 2005. Medic 2,
Medic 1, and our equipment truck respond to a Car vs Train accident in
McColl. Two seriously injured patients were transported to Scotland
Hospital ER in Laurinburg. |

October 2005. Medic 1
responds to a auto accident involving a sports car that struck a tree.
The seriously injured driver was transported by Medic 1 directly to McLeod
Regional Medical Center in Florence. |

September 2005. Medic 1,
Medic 2, and our Crash Truck responded to an overturned tractor-trailer
truck in Tatum. The driver, who was hauling glue for the fiberboard
plant in Bennettsville, was uninjured. |

August 2005. Medic1 and
Medic 3 respond to an overturned vehicle on Brickyard Road in Wallace.
Medic 1 arrived to find the patient out of the vehicle with moderate
injuries. The car was 40-50 feet from the highway in a patch of
woods. |

June, 2005. Medic 1 and
Medic 2 respond to an overturned vehicle with ejection. Medic 2
arrived on scene first to find the patient having been ejected and lying
in the roadway. The critically injured patient was transported from
the scene directed to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Personnel around the car are from Clio Rural Fire Department. |

April, 2005. Medic 1 and
Medic 3 responded to Hwy 38 North of Bennettsville in the Brightsville
area for a Tractor Trailer vs Moped. The patient was found lying
supine in the middle of the highway with multiple injuries. She was
transported to Marlboro Park Hospital and later air-lifted to MUSC.
Below MCR personnel work to stabilize the patient while family members
look on. |

April, 2005. Medic 1 and
Medic 3 responded to Hwy 9 east of Bennettsville for a vehicle overturned.
The car was not visible from the road, but the accident was witnessed by
another driver. The patient was transported to Marlboro Park
Hospital. |

February 10, 2005.
Auto accident involving a Bread truck, a car, and a school bus.
Medic 1 and Medic 2 were on the scene.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. |

Auto accident involving in downtown McColl involving two vehicles.
Medic 1, Medic 3, and Medic 5 responded. Two patients (one
critically injured) were transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital in
Laurinburg. |
