PIER TEAM
In January, 2002, MCR
formed a PIER (Public Information and Education Relations) team. This team is
responsible for informing the public on issues relative to Public Safety and
EMS/Rescue. The committee visits local schools and churches, and also
participates in community events, informing Marlboro County residents about issues in
Public Safety. PIER team pictures will be posted below as they become
available.

PRESS RELEASE
Marlboro
County Rescue Squad members Dr. Kevin Jasinski and David Flowers were among
those who presented classes during the Marlboro County Schools Staff Development
Day. On Friday, February 17th, two, ninety-minute first aid
presentations were made by Jasinski and Flowers to a total of 45 school
employees. The PowerPoint presentations covered over 20 topics, some with
“hands on” demonstrations. The topics ranged from the “A,B,C’s” of C.P.R.,
asthma and allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, bleeding control,
fractures, burns, and seizures. Numerous pieces of equipment from the ambulance
were also on display. Each participant in the two presentations received a 40
page Emergency Care Flip Chart as well as a Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kit. Dr.
Kevin Jasinski says that “he was extremely pleased with the attention and
interest shown by the school employees that took these classes. Each is now
better trained to handle any emergency that their students may have during the
school day”. Both presenters have volunteered in the E.M.S. setting since the
early 1980’s, and have over fifty years of combined experience.

MCRS
personnel joined forces with the Bennettsville Police Department and
Bennettsville Fire Department on Tuesday April 22, 2003, in presenting the
Nationally Acclaimed "Every 15 Minutes" Program at the Marlboro County High School.
The Program teaches High School age kids about the dangers of driving while
impaired, and informs the audience that someone is killed by a drunk driver
